CCTV appeal following purse theft in Northallerton

Police have issued a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a theft in Northallerton.

It happened outside the Marks and Spencer store in Friarage Street between 4.40pm and 5pm on 13 July 2019.

A man approached a trolley outside the store where a handbag had been left. The man then removed a purse from the handbag and later used a bank card from within the purse to withdraw money.

Officers are asking members of the public to get in touch if they recognise the person in the CCTV image, as they believe he will have information that can help the investigation.
