Flooding across North Yorkshire – UPDATE

Multiple agencies are working together to assist residents and business owners in the City and surrounding areas.

Overnight 605 properties were visited leading to 92 people being evacuated and taken to the local rest centre at Archbishop Holgate School, Hull Road, York.

Military assistance is currently in place with 25 military personnel assisting with sandbagging in Cawood and 100 military personnel assisting with sandbagging and evacuation in York.

North Yorkshire Police are continuing to ask people to not travel unless absolutely necessary. If you do have to travel please plan your route and do not attempt to drive through flood water.
