Man appears in court in connection with Scarborough break-ins and vehicle interference

An 18-year-old Scarborough man has appeared at Scarborough Magistrates' Court in connection with a spate of break-ins in the town overnight on 6 to 7 February 2017.

He was arrested on 9 February 2017 and charged on 25 February with three burglaries, three offences of vehicle interference and one charge of possessing drugs.

Two further offences, one of burglary and one of vehicle interference were taken into consideration.

He appeared at Scarborough Magistrates’ Court on 27 February 2017 and was remanded in custody to appear at York Crown Court on 27 March 2017.

The offences happened in the Crossgates and Seamer areas of the town.

A 15-year-old boy was also arrested and has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
