Man arrested on suspicion of outraging public decency at service station

A man has been arrested on suspicion of outraging public decency following an incident at a North Yorkshire service station.

Officers were on patrol when a member of the public approached them and reported that a man had been sexually touching himself in a car park at Leeming Bar services.

Police traced a vehicle which they believed to be linked to the incident and a man in his 50s was arrested in the Richmondshire area a short time later.

The incident happened at around 1.45pm on Saturday (22 August).

The man who was arrested was released under investigation to allow further enquiries to take place.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken to police.
