Man charged following York clothes theft

A man from East Yorkshire has been charged with theft after clothes worth hundreds of pounds were stolen from the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet in York.

On Saturday 3 June 2017, officers from North Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Group attended the shopping centre, acting on intelligence.

A 48-year-old man from Driffield was detained by security staff at the shopping centre, and was arrested by officers on suspicion of theft. Suspected stolen items were recovered from a vehicle.

The man was subsequently charged with the theft of £196.55 worth of clothes from Joules. He will appear at York Magistrates Court on 19 June 2017.
