Man arrested after police bike stolen and PCSO threatened with knife in York

At around 3pm on Wednesday 29 March 2017, a York Police Community Support Officer was threatened by a man with a knife who stole his police cycle.

The incident happened on Crombie Avenue in York and the suspect was last seen on Wigginton Road.

He was wearing dark clothing and officers are carrying out searches of the area to locate him.

Members of the public are asked to contact the police if

  • They have seen  a man on a police cycle wearing dark clothing
  • They find an abandoned police cycle

Please call 101 or 999 if you have an immediate sighting.

Please DO NOT approach the man.

5.30pm UPDATE: The police cycle has been found, searches remain on-going to locate suspect.

6.30pm UPDATE: The suspect was arrested at 6.15pm in York and taken into police custody.
