Police investigating serious injury pedestrian collision at Catterick Garrison

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses and information about a serious injury pedestrian collision at Catterick Garrison.

It occurred on Leyburn Road – between Camp Centre and Plumer Road – at around 5.15am today (Saturday 1 December 2018) and involved a white Renault heavy goods vehicle and a man aged in his late 20s.

He was taken by ambulance to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough. He is receiving treatment for serious injuries.

Local diversions were put in place while the emergency services worked at the scene and to allow a full police examination.

The road reopened at around 10am.

Officers are appealing for any information that could assist the investigation, including possible sighting of the man or the white Renault heavy goods vehicle prior to the collision.
