Police issue description of suspect after criminal damage near Whitby

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information after a vehicle was damaged in Sleights.

It happened on Iburndale Lane at around 6:45pm yesterday (14 October).

A man was reported to have punched a van window following a verbal altercation. As a result, the van window shattered.

Police are making enquiries to locate the man. We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

He is described white, approximately 5ft 11ins tall and of medium build. He is aged in his late 40s with dark receding hair with short trimmed facial hair.

At the time of the incident he may have been wearing a red and black jacket and was driving a blue Land Rover Discovery. The vehicle which has been damaged is a white Peugeot Expert van.
