York police are appealing for the public's help to trace a wanted man.
A European Arrest Warrant has been issued for Viktors Sokolovskis, aged 42, who is wanted in Latvia on suspicion of theft offences.
Sokolovskis was arrested at York Magistrates’ Court in September 2014, after appearing on a separate matter of two thefts in Wheldrake, near York.
He was due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 12 February 2015, for an extradition hearing but failed to turn up.
Officers are appealing to anyone who sees Sokolovskis or knows where he is to contact them with information. He is known to have links to York and Hull but he could be anywhere in the country.
Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 1 – and pass information to the Force Control Room.
If you prefer not to give your name, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
