Reported robbery in York

Police are investigating after a reported robbery on Ostman Road, York, at around 8.20am on Friday 19 June 2015.

A girl reported that she had been approached by a man as she made her way to school.

She was uninjured but left shaken by the incident.

Officers are currently investigating and are working with the girl and the school to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police will be patrolling the area to provide public reassurance while enquiries are ongoing.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 1 – and pass information to the Force Control Room.
