Romanby, Northallerton: Appeal to trace white Porsche car after 13-year-old boy knocked off bike in suspected “hit and run” collision

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about a hit and run involving a 13-year-old boy that occurred on Yafforth Road, Romanby.

It occurred in the Castle Hills area at around 7pm on Sunday 30 August 2020.

The boy suffered concussion, a severely grazed back and a bruised elbow. He was taken by ambulance to James Cook Hospital where he was treated and discharged following treatment.

We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

In particular, we are appealing for information about a white Porsche that was in the area at the time of the collision. We are also keen to speak to two cyclists who were on Yafforth Road, Romanby, heading towards Yafforth at the time of the incident, who may have seen something.

We are also appealing for any vehicles that might have seen a white Porsche or the boy on the bike in the Romanby and Yafforth area, particularly anyone with dash-cam footage.
