Driver who died in A19 collision named

49 year-old Brian James from Northallerton was travelling along the A19 around 5.30am on Thursday 8 October 2020 when he was involved in a two-vehicle collision.

The collision happened on the southbound carriageway near South Kilvington when the two vehicles, a black Peugeot driven by Mr James and a white Audi A4, collided and left the road. Mr James was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Audi was uninjured.

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have information or dashcam footage of the collision. It was reported at 5.30am and happened on the south bound carriageway involving a white Audi A4 and a black Peugeot.

Sadly, the man who was driving the Peugeot was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Audi was uninjured.

The road closed whilst emergency services responded but has now reopened.

Police are currently at the scene of a two vehicle collision on the A19 at South Kilvington.

It was reported at 5.30am and happened on the south bound carriageway involving a white Audi A4 and a black Peugeot.

Sadly, the man who was driving the Peugeot was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Audi was uninjured.

The road is likely to be closed until around midday whilst emergency services respond. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes.
