Serious injury collision in Skipton – appeal for witnesses

Road Policing Officers are appealing for witnesses after a serious collision on the outskirts of Skipton.

At approximately 8.30am on Tuesday 1 May 2018, a red Yamaha motorcycle collided with a red Vauxhall Astra and a black Dacia Duster on the A59 near Broughton Hall.  

The man who was riding the motorcycle, a 32 year-old from Accrington, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with serious injuries, where he remains in a serious condition.

The woman, who was driving the Dacia Duster was taken to Airedale General Hospital and then Bradford Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw any of the vehicles prior to the collision, anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision or anyone who witnessed the collision.

Anyone with information or dash-cam footage that could assist the investigation is asked to contact 101, select option 2 and ask for Skipton Road Policing Group.
