Thornton-le-Street crash update: cyclist has died in hospital

North Yorkshire Police can confirm that the 56-year-old female cyclist involved in the collision on the A168 in Thornton-le-Street, Thirsk last week has sadly died at James Cook Hospital.

It happened at 9.15am on Tuesday 3 October 2017 when the cyclist was in a collision with a silver Nissan Micra.

We are not in a position to name her at this time.

Officers are renewing their appeal for witnesses and dash-cam footage to assist the investigation.

In particular, they are appealing for the drivers of two vehicles which overtook the cyclist prior to the collision to come forward.
