Three Bradford men aged 29, 25 and 24 have been charged and remanded in custody following Skipton burglary and cross border pursuit.

Three men have been arrested after breaking into a house in Threshfield, Skipton and stealing the homeowners Toyota Aygo

Police were contacted at 2.55am Wednesday 7 February 2018 by the homeowner, reporting that he had been woken up by intruders his home who had taken the car keys to his red Toyota Aygo and had made off from the property in the vehicle.

At 3am two officers sighted the vehicle travelling towards Skipton on the B6265 and continued to track the vehicle until it reached the roundabout at Grassington Road, where two traffic officers then joined them.

When instructed to stop, the car failed to do so and continued to travel at speed on the A629 in the direction of Keighley, where officers from West Yorkshire Police then joined the pursuit.

The stolen vehicle continued along the A629 and onto the A650, where on reaching Church Street in Bingley, the three occupants of the Toyota Aygo ran from police and abandoned the car.

With the assistance of the National Police Air Service, the three suspects were successfully located and arrested and taken into the custody of West Yorkshire Police.

A large quantity of electrical items, suspected stolen from the house in Skipton, were found in the stolen Aygo.

Three men aged 29, 25 and 24 all from Bradford were arrested on suspicion of burglary dwelling with intent to steal and currently remain in police custody.
