UPDATE: Wanted man David Graham Laycock arrested

Wanted man David Graham Laycock, 43, from Burnley in Lancashire, was arrested in the Halifax area on the evening of Tuesday 20 February 2018.

He is currently in police custody.

North Yorkshire Police issued a wanted appeal on 19 February 2018 to trace Laycock and who were wanted after absconding from court.


Monday 19 February: Sex offender who fled justice is wanted by police

Police are searching for a convicted sex offender who absconded from court.

David Graham Laycock (pictured) was due to be sentenced for a non-recent sexual assault against a ten-year-old girl in Filey.

However, he failed to attend his court hearing and a judge at York Crown Court has issued a warrant for his arrest.

The 43-year-old is from Burnley in Lancashire and police believe he may currently be in the Blackpool area. He also has connections with Halifax and Todmorden but is known to move around.

Laycock is thin and around 6ft 1ins tall. He has brown hair and blue eyes.
