Witness appeal after assault in Whitby

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about an assault that occurred in Whitby.

It happened at Calla Beck and Eastside Park, Whitby, at about 4pm on Monday 20 July 2020, and involved a man and a woman.

A 23-year-old man was arrested and has been released under investigation in connection with the assault.

We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident. In particular, we are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the assault.

The suspect was wearing a dark-coloured tracksuit and a baseball cap, and the victim had blonde hair and was wearing a parka coat with a fur hood.
