Woman’s body recovered following house fire

A woman's body has been recovered from a house following a fire near Selby.

Police and firefighters were called to the property at Moat Way in Brayton at 1am today.

The body of a woman, believed to be in her 40s, was found at the address.

No other people are thought to have been in the house at the time of the blaze.

The scene has been cordoned off and an investigation is under way today.

Police are not yet in a position to name the woman. Detectives are currently treating her death as unexplained and are urging witnesses to get in touch.
