You can help us by creating and donating special teddy bears to help comfort traumatised children.
Update March 2020: due to COVID-19, we are not currently accepting any Bobby Buddies at this time. Thank you for your support and understanding.
“Bobby Buddies” are handed to youngsters who have experienced distressing incidents ranging from domestic violence to serious road traffic collisions.
They are kept in police vehicles and police stations and handed out when required.
This initiative will allow us to share your lovingly-knitted bear with a child going through a distressing experience.
Please follow our knitting or crochet patterns. Do not deviate from these patterns or materials:
To ensure all donated Bobby Buddies are safe and can be distributed by us, every toy must carry a CE mark to show it meets essential safety requirements. Our CE compliance guidance will show you exactly what to do:
Please hand your Bobby Buddies in to the front counter of Fulford Road (York), Harrogate, Northallerton or Scarborough police stations.
Do not forget the CE compliance slip and label when donating. Without the CE compliance slip and CE label attached, any donation will unfortunately not be accepted.
