My North Yorkshire: Terms and conditions
To ensure My North Yorkshire remains a fair competition, the following rules, terms and conditions apply to all entrants.
Rules of the competition
Photographs must have been taken within North Yorkshire.
All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them and must not have been published elsewhere or won a prize in any other photographic competition.
Entry is open to members of the public, North Yorkshire Police officers and North Yorkshire Police staff with the exception of members of the judging panel.
This competition is open to residents of the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Republic of Ireland.
All entries must be received by 11:59pm 1st November 2016. No entries received after the closing date will be considered.
Only one entry is permitted per person. An entry may only include a single photograph.
There are no age categories applicable to this competition and entries are acceptable from all ages. Entrants under the age of 18 must have the consent of their parent or guardian to enter, and on the understanding that they are doing so in accordance with the rules of the competition. NYP reserves the right to obtain written proof of such consent and to disqualify any entrant if such proof is not given.
It is a condition of entry that all rules are accepted as final and that the competitor agrees to abide by these rules. The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Terms & Conditions
The winner of the competition will have their winning entry displayed at the new North Yorkshire Police HQ. No other prize is offered.
Photographs are to be submitted as JPEG files and with a minimum resolution of 8 megapixels. No other formats will be accepted.
Entries should be submitted via email to email@example.com. Entries must include the entrant’s name, address and telephone number.
It is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure that the entry they submit has been taken with the permission of the subject and does not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. Submission of an entry will be taken to mean acceptance of these conditions.
The copyright of each image will remain with the entrant however by taking part in the competition, each entrant is granting North Yorkshire Police an irrevocable perpetual licence to feature any of the submitted images in any form.
No responsibility will be accepted for lost entries. No entries submitted through third parties or agencies will be accepted.
The judging panel will not have access to the identity of the entrants until after the judging has taken place. Judging will thereby be carried out anonymously.
The winner may be required to take part in publicity activities appropriate to North Yorkshire Police.
The winner’s name will be publically announced within 28 days of the closing date.
Photographs may be digitally manipulated in order to be displayed by North Yorkshire Police, including (however not limited to) scaling, cropping/framing and retouching.
Due to the anticipated number of entries, unsuccessful entrants will not be notified.
North Yorkshire Police reserve the right to withdraw the competition without notice.
