Volunteers' Week 2019
June 1-7 2019 is Volunteers' Week, and you can join us in celebrating the contribution of volunteers in Team NYP.
Volunteers don’t replace regular Police Officers or Police Staff, but they do make a fantastic contribution to our service, selflessly contributing their time and talent to work on events, projects and activities that help us to keep communities safe.
At North Yorkshire Police our volunteers include Special Constables, Police Support Volunteers, Police Cadets and their leaders. They are all an intrinsic and important part of the policing family and our service just wouldn’t be the same without them!
To mark Volunteers’ Week 2019, we are raising the profile of our volunteers by asking members of the public and volunteers themselves to download one of the special Volunteers’ Week posters below, and post a selfie picture of you (with your colleagues or family too perhaps) on Twitter. Please remember to use the the hashtag #NYPVolunteers2019 so we can find your photos!
It’s just a gesture to show that you support your police service – and especially those who are prepared to donate their free time and expertise, free of charge, for the benefit of us all.
Keep an eye out on our Twitter and Facebook for posts about volunteers throughout the week, and we’ll publish some of the best pictures on this page at the end of Volunteers’ Week 2019.
Thank you for your support, and a big thanks to our volunteers!
